Eric embarked on his legal journey in 1985 at the Attorney General's Chambers within the Prosecution Division, where he honed his skills for three formative years before transitioning to private practice in 1988.

Eric quickly became highly regarded as a formidable advocate in the criminal litigation arena, as prosecutor as well as defence counsel. His dual expertise as both a prosecutor and defence counsel has equipped him with a unique perspective, enabling him to navigate complex and nuanced factual and legal challenges with seasoned expertise. He has a deep bench of experience in criminal law and his established track record speaks to this. Eric is frequently sought after for his adept handling of high-profile insider dealing cases and a wide array of disciplinary proceedings.

Eric has also sat as a member of a number of appellate statutory bodies, such as the Municipal Services Appeals Board, Town Planning Appeal Board, Appeal Tribunal (Buildings), Environmental Impact Assessment Appeal Board, and more.  

Eric was appointed as Deputy Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court for periods from 2022 to 2025, and he was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) for his services in the Municipal Services Appeal Board.

Eric has been appointed as Recorder of the Court of First Instance of the High Court for a period of 3 years

Eric has sat as a member of a number of appellate statutory bodies, such as the Municipal Services Appeals Board, Town Planning Appeal Board, Appeal Tribunal (Buildings), Environmental Impact Assessment Appeal Board, Deputy Judge of the High Court and more.

He is appointed as Recorder of the Court of First Instance of the High Court. The appointment took effect from May 1, 2025, for a term of three years.
